Terms and Conditions

Effective January 1, 2026

A&B Hoover Concrete Construction, concretehoover.com, estimates@concretehoover.com

Accepting these terms

These terms apply when you use the A&B Hoover Concrete Construction website, ask us for an estimate or hire us for concrete work. By using the site or our services, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the site or book work with us.

When we sign a written estimate, proposal or contract with you for a specific job, that document controls wherever it differs from these terms.

What we do

A&B Hoover Concrete Construction is a concrete contractor in Hoover, AL. We build driveways, patios, sidewalks, steps, garage floors, slabs, footings, foundations, retaining walls, pool decks and parking lots, and we do stamped and decorative concrete, concrete cutting and foundation raising. You can see the full list of services from our home page and read more about our crew on our About page.

The website describes our work in general terms. It isn't a promise that a particular service, finish or schedule fits your property. That depends on what we find when we come out and look.

Estimates and pricing

We give free estimates at your property, with no obligation to hire us. An estimate is based on what we can see that day, including the size of the area, access for trucks and equipment, the condition of the ground and any old concrete that has to come out.

Some things can't be known until the job is open, such as soft or wet ground under an old slab, buried debris, roots or utility lines. If we find a condition like that, we'll stop, explain it to you and agree on any change in price or scope before we go ahead.

An estimate stays good for the period written on it. After that, material and labor costs may have changed, and we may need to update the price.

Prices and descriptions on this website are general information and are not a quote for your job.

Scheduling, weather and cancellation

We schedule each job once you accept the estimate. Concrete depends on the weather, so rain, freezing temperatures or extreme heat can push back a pour, because pouring in the wrong conditions makes for a weaker slab. Delays from weather, material supply, permit timing or other things outside our control aren't a breach of our agreement with you.

If you need to cancel or reschedule, please call us as early as you can. If we've already ordered materials, set forms or done site work, you may owe for those costs, as your written agreement explains.

Freshly poured concrete needs time to cure, which is the wait while it hardens and gains strength. We'll tell you when it's safe to walk and drive on your new concrete. Damage caused by using it early, or by people, pets, vehicles or equipment crossing it before then, isn't our responsibility.

Payment

Payment terms, including any deposit and when the balance is due, are set out in your written estimate or contract. Unless that document says otherwise, the final balance is due when the work is complete.

If a payment is late, we may pause any remaining work until it's settled. You're responsible for reasonable costs we incur collecting an unpaid balance, to the extent Alabama law allows.

Your property and access

You agree to give our crew safe access to the work area and to tell us about anything we should know, such as sprinkler lines, septic systems, drainage pipes, private utility lines or property line questions. Before any digging, public utility lines need to be marked.

Heavy trucks and equipment can leave marks on lawns, landscaping and nearby surfaces getting to and from the work area. We take reasonable care to keep that to a minimum, and we'll talk with you beforehand about the access route.

Where a permit is needed, the property owner is responsible for making sure the work is allowed on the property, including any HOA approval.

Warranties and what they don't cover

We're fully licensed and insured, and our work is backed by our satisfaction guarantee. Any specific written warranty for your job will be in your contract, and that document sets out what it covers and for how long.

Concrete can develop small hairline cracks as it cures and as the ground moves with the seasons. That's normal for concrete and isn't a defect on its own. We cut control joints, which are planned grooves that give the slab a place to crack in a straight line, to keep cracking where we chose rather than random.

Our warranty doesn't cover damage from settling or movement of soil we didn't prepare, poor drainage the homeowner changes after the job, tree roots, de-icing salts, heavy vehicles or equipment beyond what the concrete was built for, misuse, lack of upkeep, or natural events like flooding.

Small differences in color and texture are natural in concrete, and stamped and colored work won't match a sample exactly.

Apart from any written warranty in your contract, and to the extent the law allows, our services and this website are provided without other warranties, express or implied.

Limits on our liability

To the extent the law allows, A&B Hoover Concrete Construction isn't liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, such as lost use of your property, connected with our services or this website.

Our total liability for any claim connected with a job is limited to the amount you paid us for that job. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited under Alabama law.

Using this website

The information on this site is general and may change without notice. We try to keep it accurate, but we don't guarantee it's complete or current, and it's not a substitute for an on-site look at your project.

Settling disagreements

If something about your job isn't right, please call us first. Most problems can be sorted out with a conversation and a visit, and we'd rather fix it than argue about it.

If we can't resolve it that way, both sides agree to try good-faith negotiation before going to court. Any legal action will be brought in the state or federal courts serving Jefferson County, Alabama, unless your written contract says otherwise.

Governing law

These terms and any work we do for you are governed by the laws of the State of Alabama, without regard to its conflict of law rules.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Changes take effect when posted on this page and don't change any written contract already signed. Using the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
